2nd Act: Bob Burns

Bob Burns, the Director of the Mattatuck Museum, always dreamed of a life in the spotlight. But sometimes life throws curveballs — you can duck, or you can swing and knock it out of the park.
Bob's first passion was for the theater. Through college, graduate school, and a teaching fellowship at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., Bob pursued his dream of becoming a working actor. When he moved to New York City, Bob continued acting, but found himself increasingly working for non-profits, eventually leading him to the Mattatuck Museum.
Using the lessons and talents he learned from the stage, Bob found new ways help others. This set him on a new path with a wide variety of opportunities and experiences, learning that working with like-minded souls to help others can be tremendously fulfilling — and that knowing how to tap dance can come in handy, too!
