AAW Arts Walk

Join the Arts Alliance of Woodbury’s for an Arts Walk along Main Street for an afternoon stroll in the center of town for pop-up events, exhibits, and live music.
Rector Tuesday Rupp and accompanist Pete Miserendino will perform on the patio outside St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 1:15pm – 2:15pm followed by Jerry and Teddi Pia playing excerpts from the American songbook at 2:30 – 4:00pm.
Visual artists will exhibit their works along the cemetery wall adjacent to St. Paul’s, and on the lawn at the Woodbury Public Library. You’ll have a chance to see beautiful artwork including abstract works by Luke Weichman, landscapes by Nadine Newell and watercolors by Kerry King. Woodworker Scott Martin will share handcrafted and turned wood items, artist ShawnaLee Kwashnak will offer fine art portraits with live sittings at the Arts Walk, and photographer Michael Gallagher will display Permanent Pigment Photographic Prints. Artist Polly Miller will share copper works and mixed media ornaments, and artist Cynthia Zinser will highlight framed line drawings created with sharpie, marker, ink and washes. Collage artist Marla Thornington Martin will share collage and mosaic work, poet Tracy Zumbahlen will highlight books of poetry and dried flower creations. Photographer Victoria Foulke will display nature photographer, June Bissonette will demonstrate spinning alpaca fiber and have handspun alpaca yarns and products for sale and Woodbury Poet Laureate Sandy Carlson will have books poetry available.
The Gallery at the Woodbury Public Library will be open with Emerging Artists, highlighting works by Annachiara Chacchia, Mary Lasley and Sam Wilder.
Studio Hill Gallery, 507 Main St. South, will be open for visitors to view “Interior Landscape of the Self” featuring paintings by Roxbury artist Theresa Bates.
The gallery’s shaded patio courtyard will be the venue for the Arts Walk’s popular Spoken Word segment which will begin at 3:00pm. Among the performers appearing are author Cindy Eastman and Sandy Carlson (Woodbury’s Poet Laureate. There will be an Open Mic for anyone who feels inspired to share.
The Glebe House Museum and Gertrude Jekyll Garden will be open at no charge with a docent available.
Award winning artist Peter Seltzer will open his studio at 125 Main Street North, 1:00 -5:00 PM. His paintings in oil and pastel can be found in the permanent collections of the Butler Institute of American Art, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and Harvard University.
Polar Sweets Ice Cream Truck will be available during the Arts Walk, located by the Library.
