"In the Spirit" Paintings by Melody Asbury

"In the Spirit", paintings by Melody Asbury, are display at the Woodbury Public Library during the month of August. The show encompasses some of the dreams and visions that came to her in response to recent world events.
Melody has always loved and painted animals, eventually becoming a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists. In 2008, a dream of a white wolf standing quietly in her backyard caused her paintings to move in a new direction after discovering the wolf was her spirit animal. So often misunderstood and persecuted, Ms. Asbury endeavors to show the spirit and worth of wolves in the balance of nature. As a lover of horses, a vision of an Appaloosa led her to exploring war ponies and the markings the indigenous people have painted on them.
