Description

India is one of the most iconic and influential voices in Latin music.

With over three decades of unparalleled success, the “Princess of Salsa” is the female artist with the most number one hits on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart, holding two Guinness World Records — one for the most number one singles by a female artist (11) and one for the most number one albums (6) on the Billboard Tropical Albums chart.

India’s career began in the 1980s as a member of TKA before she rose to prominence as a solo artist. Her breakthrough came with her 1994 album Dicen Que Soy, which became a cultural milestone and solidified her place as a leading figure in salsa. Other standout albums include Sobre el Fuego (1997), Latin Songbird: Mi Alma y Corazón (2002), Soy Diferente (2006), and Intensamente India con Canciones de Juan Gabriel (2015). Some of her greatest hits include “Ese Hombre,” “Qué Ganas de No Verte Nunca Más,” “Vivir Lo Nuestro” (featuring Marc Anthony), “Mi Mayor Venganza,” and “Sedúceme.”

India has received over 30 Premio Lo Nuestro nominations and a GRAMMY® nomination and has won a Latin GRAMMY® and ten Latin Billboard Music Awards. India was also honored with the Pioneer Award at the Billboard Latin Women in Music awards and received the Premio a la Trayectoria at Premio Lo Nuestro in 2025, recognizing her groundbreaking contributions to salsa and Latin music.

Her impact extends beyond music, with activism for LGBTQ+ rights and recognition as a cultural pioneer. India has also collaborated with industry legends, including Juan Gabriel, Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and Marc Anthony, and continues to break barriers with her musical versatility, spanning salsa, jazz, dance, R&B, and tropical rhythms.

India’s legacy is undeniable, and she remains a dominant force in the evolution of Latin music.

Featuring Support Artist: Luis Figueroa
