"Secrets of the Apps": a Safety Program with Officer Rich Marsh

Woodbury Police Officer Rich Marsh presents "Secrets of the Apps",a program highlighting the secret, and potentially dangerous, apps on our kids have on their mobile phones. Officer Marsh has been a police officer with the Woodbury Resident Trooper Office for over 15 years and he has served as a 5th Grade DARE program instructor for many years. During his time as an officer, Officer Marsh has conducted several large-scale investigations involving cellular phones and the apps that people use for nefarious reasons.
The idea for the “Secrets of the Apps” program was formed after an incident that occurred at the Woodbury Middle School involving several children and the SnapChat app. After the investigation of the incident, it became apparent that many parents were not fully aware of the dangers of this particular application, and some of the many other apps that are available to kids on their phones.
“Secrets of the Apps” was created to give parents the information and resources that they need to make smart decisions about their child's cellular phone use. The program, called “eye-opening and informative”, by parents who have attended, is a must see presentation, not only for parents, but also grandparents or anyone else caring for school-aged children.
