Teen Acting Class with City Youth Theater

Budding actors are invited to join staff members from Waterbury’s City Youth Theater for a 4-week acting class series at the Woodbury Public Library.
At the hands-on program, students will foster acting skills through ensemble building and improvisation techniques, and will work with monologues and other text throughout the course. Classes will begin with physical and vocal warm ups. No previous experience necessary. The acting class is open to all interested students in grades 6 & up, and like all library programs, is free, thanks to funding from the Friends of the Woodbury Public Library. Registration is required as space is limited.
Based in Waterbury, Connecticut, City Youth Theater is open to high school and middle school students and is committed to developing theater skills that challenge each student to perform at their highest skill levels on and off the stage. The techniques shared during the rehearsal process are applied productively to any endeavor students may encounter, whether or not they pursue a theatrical career, and help prepare them for a challenging, exciting world.
