"Wolfgang and Anna" Author Talk

Join local author Terry Iten as she shares the story of fascinating story of her grandparents, Wolfgang and Anna. The pair arrived in America with hope and fortitude, grabbing every opportunity open to them, and soon fell in love. Their commitment was tested by heartache, loss, economic devastation and prejudice. Their resilience rescued them from despair as their bond deepened. Wolfgang and Anna is not only an immigrant love story, but a courageous journey of joy and survival.
Terry Iten grew up in Ukiah, California. She received her bachelor’s degree in music from UCLA and completed a year of graduate study in voice at the University of Southern California before moving to New York City. After ten years of performing in regional theater and on Broadway, she moved to Connecticut with her husband, John Kildahl, and their daughters. She discovered her passion for writing after retirement. The impact of her grandparents was central to her life and she was drawn to discovering and writing about their journey. Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at the U-CONN Waterbury, CT campus offered a writing course entitled, Write Your Own Story. From that, her first novel was born.
