"I am inspired by light that is so beautiful, special moments, and preserving memories worth savoring. There are things among us that are so great that we all clamor for a glimpse of before they’re gone from our sight and memory. What if that glimpse can be captured in a portrait? What if this light can be shared for generations to come? Such things in life are worth pursuing in art. It is a special joy to create a drawing or painting that embodies these precious things for others to enjoy." ShawnaLee W. Kwashnak.
The Leroy Anderson House is a historic house at 33 Grassy Hill Road in Woodbury, Connecticut. It is a Mid-Century Modern house, built in 1953 for the noted American composer Leroy Anderson and his wife Eleanor. It is now owned by the Leroy Anderson Foundation, and is occasionally opened to the public for tours or artist talks.
There will be examples of artwork to peruse, artist portfolio books, a special pet portrait offer to guests, art classes to consider, and notecards offered for purchase direct from the artist. There is the possibility of an artists demo with the art group.
Come meet the artist, hear about the process of creating a portrait, ask questions and enjoy viewing original works of art and portfolio pieces!
